Robust, newly designed transducer from IMI Buschjost

Comprehensive redesign: Practical and robust, the transducer 8349900 from IMI Buschjost precisely detects small and medium differential pressures.

For 40 years now, IMI Precision Engineering, a world leader in pneumatic motion and fluid control technology, has been offering end users a comprehensive product portfolio for filter technology that is regularly expanded and optimised. The transducer 8349900 recently received a comprehensive redesign; this has resulted in a universally applicable device which is both robust and practical.

The revised transducer 8349900 measures the difference in pressure between the dusty gas and clean gas chamber in a filter application, precisely detecting both small and medium differential pressures of air and dry or non-aggressive gases. If a certain value is exceeded, the device sends a signal for cleaning to the filter control. Various measuring ranges are available; these are between 2.5 and 1000 mbar full-scale. Special measuring ranges can also be put into effect.

The dustproof polycarbonate housing is compact and very easy to assemble. This is thanks to the use of practical hinge technology, which allows a screwless opening and closing of the housing. The device’s lock can be pried quickly and easily with a slotted screwdriver. The housing cover remains on the device during this process. Since it can be opened up to an angle of 105°, the connection area remains easily accessible. Thanks to two-wire technology, there isn’t much wiring work either.

In addition to being used in normal conditions, the transducer 8349900 can also be used in dusty environments. There are approvals for both Ex zones 22 and 2.
