Buschjost, FAS and KIP Group Together to Form Norgren Fluid Controls
All the fun of the fair: Phillip Orlik, Marketing Director of Norgren Fluid Controls.
A trio of companies marching in step: Buschjost, FAS and KIP, all long-term members of the international Norgren
Group, but each enjoying its own de facto world reputation as a manufacturer of solenoid and process valves, have
pooled their competencies to bring the Norgren Fluid Controls Division into being. For Phillip Orlik,
Marketing Director of the division based in Switzerland, the decision of the three very successful firms to work
together was just a matter of logic: "Buschjost, FAS and KIP together cover the entire spectrum of solenoid and
process valve applications. They are therefore in a position throughout the world to offer the customer any
conceivable solution, from what amounts to a supplier of complete solutions from a single source."
However, more important to Phillip Orlik than all the marketing advantages is another fact: "The 900-strong workforce
of the new grouping includes more than 100 experienced engineers and developers, who represent a tremendous potential
in terms of know-how, with expertise in custom system solutions from medical engineering through mechanical
engineering to heating and air conditioning of vehicles." The level of collaboration between the three development
departments is already described as outstanding: "Staff have already internalised the philosophy and team spirit of
a fluid control grouping and cooperate on development projects, in which, for example, an FAS miniature valve
controls a Buschjost pilot valve."
Customers also profit from the advantages generated by aspects such as the market and joint purchasing power of
the new group. Phillip Orlik: "Given rising raw material prices and the ever more difficult purchasing situation
for individual materials and outsourced components, wherever possible Norgren Fluid Controls will of course act in
a concerted fashion to maximise the benefits for the customer."
