Innovative valve technology for machine cooling systems

Buschjost has developed a new line of very cost-effective valves specifically to withstand dirty fluids at demanding pressures and temperatures in the cooling circuits of extruders and injection moulding machines.

This technologically sophisticated system is based on the 85300 series of piston valves with plunger tube isolated from the fluid to prevent scaling and ingress of dirt particles. Compact design permits installation of these valves in much tighter spaces than their coaxial counterparts.

To make the piston valves resistant to dirt, the developers have positioned the seal bearing surfaces of the pistons outside the flow passage. This configuration minimises susceptibility to dirty fluids and maximises service life. The piston surfaces have also been reengineered to ensure particularly low wear. The very smooth, roller burnished surfaces of the one piece pistons further reduce wear. Powerful solenoids guarantee gentle yet reliable closure.

This piston valve solution is technically equivalent to the coaxial valves formerly used in coolant circuits, but represents significantly better value for money.

Its modified version with bellows is designed for pressures of up to 7 bar so readily withstands pressure pulses. The valves have a solid brass body with female thread from G 1/4 to G2 and are suitable for dirty gases and liquids at temperatures of up to 150 degrees. The selection includes solenoids for all standard voltages.
