New flange valves are easier and faster to install

Flange fittings have been providing top quality connections in installation for decades. They are dependable, standardised and robust. Norgren has added a new flange valve range to its proven Buschjost series of valves. The design of the devices have been completely revised in terms of valve technology and flange geometry and conform completely to the relevant standard in terms of hole pattern and size. Due to this redesign the devices now offer a 3.5 kg saving in weight and with the use of computer simulation the units have been optimised for greater strength. The development has lead to an advantage in terms of pricing and reduced installation times.

During the development phase one of the key driving factors was safety. All of the valve functions and parameters have been verified and optimised through a comprehensive programme of computer simulation and the devices meet the requirements of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) in Categories 1 and 2 for all media. This new valve series includes both piston and diaphragm valves in a wide variety of models and can be specified as indirectly and force-lifted operated variants.

The valve bodies are constructed of stainless steel and can also be specified in high quality cast steel. Available in ND connection sizes of 15 to 50 the actuators utilised are from the Buschjost Click-on series that can be installed securely in a single action without the need for tools. This comprehensive solenoid range is available for all standard voltages and a variety of special voltages upon request. The devices are also available with EEX and UL certification.
